Business Class

Meals and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are included when you travel in Business class.

For lunch and dinner, we provide a selection of catered-type meals that include bread, an appetizer, a dessert, a glass of Canadian wine, and a selection of hot beverages1,2. Main course choices always include a vegetarian pasta option.

For breakfast, we provide a selection of catered-type meals that include fresh fruit and a selection of hot beverages.

VIA Préférence Premier members travelling in Business class have priority meal selection on board.

 

 
 

Economy Class

Discover our onboard menu of affordable sandwiches and lunchboxes1 . All of our meals are made using quality Canadian ingredients, including antibiotic-free meats and local breads and cheeses.

1 Due to demand, your first choice may not be available on board. We appreciate your understanding. Please note that the Business class full meal service may not be available on all routes (in which case complimentary snacks and drinks will be offered).

2 With a Business class ticket, you can order meals adapted to your dietary restrictions  when making a reservation at least 48 hours before departure.

Rules regarding transporting, refrigerating and heating personal foods following recommendations from Transport Canada and Health Canada:
• Passengers in all classes of service do not have access to self-serve microwave ovens in any car.
• Passengers cannot bring their own food to refrigerate or heat up unless it is for medical reasons or severe allergies. The only exception is baby formula and baby foods. In these cases the employee will handle both refrigeration and heating. Foods must be kept in their own sealed containers to avoid possible cross contamination.
• Take-out attendants are responsible for heating all foods purchased at the take-out, including hot water.
• Passengers cannot use their own heating devices (portable microwave, kettle…). Electric or battery operated baby bottle heaters are the only exception.
• Passengers can travel with a small cooler with personal items and dry foods they can keep sealed in their accommodation or seat storage.

Sleeper Plus Class

From breakfast to dinner, try something from our three-course menu 1 . We offer three choices 2,3 The main course always include a vegetarian dish. With a Business class ticket, you can order meals adapted to your dietary restrictions by phone, 72 hours before departure. of main dishes for every meal.

And what better to bring out the sumptuous flavours of our dishes than a glass of Canadian wine? We carefully selected local wines, all sold by the glass. It's the perfect way to enjoy a taste of the region with your meal. 

When travelling in Sleeper Plus class, meals are included in the price of your ticket and served in the dining car*. Meal entitlement is dependent upon your departure time: 

  • Breakfast: 06:30-09:00. No entitlement if departure is at or after 08:00 (local time)
  • Lunch: 11:00-14:00. No entitlement if departure is at or after 12:30 (local time). (Exception for train 15 passengers departing from Truro will be entitled to lunch)
  • Dinner: 17:00-19:00 No entitlement if departure is at or after 18:30 (local time). (Exception for train 14 passengers departing from Montreal, St-Lambert and St-Hyacinthe will be entitled to dinner)

*Exception: we cannot guarantee meals for any bookings made within 35 hours of departure. 
 

 

 

 
 

Economy Class

Our take-out menu  offers a choice of hot and cold beverages, a selection of snacks, and light meals1 . There’s something for everyone, from light and healthy items to more hearty comfort food. Bar service is also offered, with a selection of local beers and Canadian wines.
