If you are continuing your journey into the United States on board an Amtrak train, please make sure you know what's required by customs before your departure.

ID requirements for boarding train 97 (Toronto – Niagara Falls – New York)

U.S. Destinations

If you are travelling to a city located in the United States, you must present a VALID PASSPORT with your Amtrak or VIA Rail ticket before boarding.

Canadian Destinations

If you are travelling to a city located in Canada, you must have in your possession a valid VIA Rail ticket and:

1. 1. One (1) piece of valid government-issued identification with photograph, showing your name and date of birth.

OR

1. 2. Two (2) pieces of valid government-issued identification without photograph, showing the same name and your date of birth on at least one of the two pieces of ID.

Travellers may be subject to random ID verifications on board.
